Provo Municipal Airport is a public airport two miles (3 km) west of Provo, in Utah County, Utah. The airport hosts Allegiant Air flights to three airports, one in Arizona and two in California - Phoenix/Mesa Gateway Airport, Los Angeles International Airport and Oakland International Airport. It is the second busiest public airport in Utah by aircraft movements, with 172,000 aircraft operations in the year ending May 2007.〔, effective 2008-02-14〕〔 〕 ==Overview== The airport is used for general aviation and rarely had scheduled airline flights until June 2011 when Frontier Airlines began daily flights to Denver. Salt Lake City International Airport (about north) is the closest airport with numerous flights. (SkyWest Airlines flew to Provo from 1974-1975.)
